90 Second Leadership – Simplifying Ministry Processes
Let’s talk about simplifying a ministry process and three classic approaches to giving away ministry.
The first approach is the iron chef, who really isn’t giving ministry away. This person sacrifices giving ministry away on the altar of excellence every Sunday. The iron chef thinks that they are the only person who can take the mysterious ingredients that they’re given and whip up something special.
The next approach is grandma. Grandma knows the recipe, and sometimes grandma enjoys being the only person who knows the recipe. She could write it down but has chosen not to.
Finally, we have the cake in a box approach. This approach says, “Hey, I’m going to put together the ingredients for you. I will simplify the process so that you still have some skin in the game and must put in two eggs, a cup of milk, and set the timer, but you will get the same result every time.”
Will it be as good as the iron chef? Maybe. Will it be as good as grandma? I don’t know. But cake in a box is at least an 8 out of 10, and you’ve practiced Ephesians 4 and given away your ministry.
