90 Second Leadership – Shared Ministry

As pastors, we talk about shared ministry all the time but a lot of the time, we only talk about it. I’m going to give you a transition process to actually help you do it.
When we look at the shared ministry model, it’s really a transition or release of shared responsibility. We are moving from the developer’s responsibility to the leader’s responsibility. What does that look like?
Well, it’s intentional. I do, you watch, we talk. Then its guided. I do, and you help me. You come along with me and help and then we talk about it. Next, collaborative. You do, I’m helping you, and then we talk. Finally, the leader is equipped. You do, I’m just here to watch. I will still process with you and help when needed.
That is what a good release of ministry looks like. It is release from one person to the next, and can be easily repeated and taught. Now that you know this, what are you going to do about it?
