Two of my favorite things are development and pie. Pie is not mentioned in the New Testament, but we certainly see development. When we look at the way that Jesus spent His time, was more of it doing or developing?
At a first glance of the Gospels, we might say Jesus spent most of His time doing ministry. However, if you look at how He used His time in those three years, a lot of the things He did and even things in front of a crowd, Jesus would go back and review these things with the disciples. So, He actually spent more of His time developing than doing.
Now, when you look at your time and life in ministry, how much time are you spending developing? If you are generous in a self-assessment, you may say that you’re spending half of your time developing and half of your time doing. But, I highly doubt it.
So, what is your slice of the development pie? How much are you doing versus how much are you developing? If it doesn’t look like Jesus’, what are you going to do about it?
