90 Second Leadership – Advanced Pipeline Systems

Advanced Pipeline systems look, well, advanced. A lot of things seem complicated at first, but we can simplify them by using systems. It is important for your church to have role profiles in place for your staff, all the way down to your leaders and volunteers.
When you have a consistent role profile, you can overlay the role profile with a person’s individual profile. In doing so, you quickly see the gaps between what the role is and where the person is in their development.
So if you’re looking to transition a person into the next role, you can quickly identify their gaps. Sometimes you see few gaps and determine the individual is ready, and sometimes you see so many gaps you quickly know they are not ready to go forward. When someone has enough competency to move forward, you can create a clear development plan based on their gaps.
Can you put people in a box? No, not always. There will be some things not covered in the overlap of role and personal profiles, but the high-tech, high-touch approach will help you move your leaders forward.
With this advanced system in place, what are you doing to do about it?
